I'm glad you find the list valuable. For the tip on recommending people on LinkedIn, I agree this is a terrific thing for individuals to do for each other. I don't know of a way for a company to write a recommendation for an individual though, or even for another company. And I couldn't think of a close corollary of referrals in company profiles (but those are so new I may have missed a feature). As a person who wants to maintain an online persona and who is tasked with maintaining a company's online presence, one would pretty much end up having to do as much of Chris's list and this list as possible. I suppose this depends on how large your business is, but for small biz and consultants, I still like this recommendation.
